The "First Third" or "First Half" (Depending on Global Warming)

Thirty and hating it so far. Why? I’m sick and it is slushy/cold outside. What a way to end the “First Third” and begin the next. Well, I am not here to complain but to divulge all that I have learned (or haven’t) in the “First Third”.

Life Lessons:
1. Live alone - Alone is where "you" are.
2. Get what you want - Reach out and grasp your soul’s desire.
3. Enjoy "Now" - As Ferris Bueller once said, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while. You could miss it."
4. Never second guess your "gut" - It is the inner voice. It knows you best. Follow it.
5. You are who you want to be - You were born into a role, religion, culture and family. But that doesn’t have to be. If one causes you pain, then change it.
6. Rely on destiny - Karma, the 'Law of attraction", err whatever you want to call it. It exists. It doesn’t require faith. Faith is just a mask on the face of destiny.
7. Face your fears - Fear is nothing but a word.

What NOT to do:
1. Get married (at least with caution) - Yes, I have to say it. For those of you who are happily married. Cherish it!
2. Chase the mighty dollar - A wise man once said, "If you desire money. You will get it. We all get what we desire."
3. Wait for someone else - You are the main character in your own movie. Write the script!
4. Think things will never change - Wait 5 minutes

Other things to consider (in no particular order):
1. Learn how to play an instrument
2. Break old traditions
3. Paint
4. Take pictures
5. Question authority
6. Love
7. Be Creative
8. Have a child
9. Research, Read and Ponder (all three equally as important)

So far, thirty feels the same. I look the same. My "baggage", still feels the same. A couple of bump, bruises, heart breaks, failed attempts, lonely nights and I am ready for the "Second Third".

As for everything I have said above. The famous Socrates quotes comes to mind, "One thing only I know, and that is that I know nothing."
